Knowledge Management and Uptake Specialist, GCF-IEU
Yeonji Kim is Knowledge Management and Uptake Specialist at Independent Evaluation Unit of Green Climate Fund (GCF-IEU). She has 13 years of combined experience in climate policy, governance, knowledge management, communications and uptake in various sectors, including UN and international organizations and the media. At GCF-IEU, she leads the knowledge management and uptake work and synthesizes and disseminates lessons learned from IEU evaluations to inform the decision-making by the GCF Board and other key stakeholders.
Yeonji has conducted and contributed to several GCF-IEU evaluations and recently co-authored the IEU’s ‘Independent Evaluation of GCF’s Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme‘, ‘Independent Synthesis of Direct Access in GCF’ and ‘Independent Evaluation of the Relevance and Effectiveness of GCF’s Investments in the Least Developed Countries’. Prior to joining GCF-IEU, she serviced the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiations on climate finance and capacity-building as part of the UNFCCC Secretariat team, and led UNFCCC’s needs-based climate finance projects for Asia-Pacific countries. Yeonji has rigorous communications, uptake and external relations experience from the International Finance Corporation, UNESCAP, and as a news reporter and anchor at Arirang TV. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Duke University, USA and a B.A. in International Development Studies from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), USA.
