Pratap Raju

Founder, Climate Collective

Pratap Raju’s journey is a fascinating blend of finance, film production, and environmental activism. He studied Applied Math with Economics at Harvard, followed by a stint on Wall Street as a hedge fund arbitrage trader, economist, and investment banker in the ’90s. Shifting gears, he pursued an MSc in Economic Development from Oxford in 2000.

Moving to India, Pratap unexpectedly delved into film production, co-writing the feature film “Bas Yun Hi” and producing over 40 TV commercials. However, the 2008 financial crisis steered him towards renewable energy and environmental sustainability. He developed 84MW of solar and wind plants in India and co-founded My Mosambi, a solar crowdfunded platform.

Today, Pratap leads PR Climate Studio and the Climate Collective, initiatives dedicated to leveraging imagination, entrepreneurship, and community to address climate change across South Asia. He’s also committed to rethinking our approach to living sustainably on this planet. Pratap invites collaboration and deeper engagement through his websites and blog.
